Ai replaced franchise mainstay Reiko Nagase (Character) who represented the Ridge Racer series through all of its former installments; Ridge Racer through Ridge Racer Type 4. Ai only represented the game for the sole game and Reiko returned as the representative of the series with Ridge Racer 6 (Game).
