Overview
Ana-Maria is the daughter and sole heir of Emperor Marschner, the ruler of the Gildllan Empire. She was raised in largely sheltered conditions and barely saw her father, and was raised by a variety of tutors who taught her everything from etiquette to sword-fighting. Her only friends were a young attendant named Charles and an old doctor who often came to check on her and brought her books to read. But one night, August launches a coup, killing the Emperor and taking the throne for himself. He then orders his troops to kill Ana-Maria, hoping to end the Marschner bloodline before it becomes a threat. However, Ana-Maria is able to escape with Charles through a secret passage, thanks to the old doctor's help. Eventually, Ana-Maria and Charles find their way to Idyll Rise. However, because Ana-Maria barely saw her father, she does not care about revenge or retaking the Gildllan throne, and instead decides to take advantage of her newfound freedom to explore the world that she only got to experience through books. Ana-Maria and Charles later join a group of adventurers as they take on their own exploration across the land.
Gameplay
Ana-Maria uses a katana with Iaido (Concept)-style moves. In addition to basic slashes, holding the attack button lets her unleash a powerful slash, and releasing the held button just as an enemy attacks her will unleash a super-powerful counter-slash attack.
