Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Charlemagne plays a minor role in Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. One of the game's characters, Anthony (Character) of the Holy Roman Empire, is given a scroll by a mysterious figure and told that it is for Charlemagne's eyes only. Distrusting the messenger, Anthony opens the scroll to view its contents and is immediately struck with a curse. Aware of who the curse was meant for, Anthony runs to warn Charlemagne of the plot against him, slowly succumbing to its effects as he progresses. However, Anthony's efforts are for naught, as he arrives in Charlemagne's chamber too late and finds his liege is already dead.
