Sadistic T-Doll and part of the AR Team, named after the customized M4A1 Carbine that she also wields.

Background

M4 SOPMOD II (or just "SOP-II") is a violent and sadistic T-Doll and one of the founding members of the AR Team alongside M16A1, M4A1, and ST AR-15. Despite being described as a "suicidal nut" by one of her friends, Persica merely considered this personality as a step in the search for the perfect AI and declined to change it. If given enough time, SOP-II will rip off body parts of enemies and allies alike and use them to repair herself. SOP-II doesn't have a Neural Cloud to backup her personality like other T-Dolls, so these self-repairs make up for her limited lifespan. Despite all this, SOP-II is very protective of the friends she has, and seeks to punish evil, rather than being violent just for the sake of it.

SOP-II isn't only able to repair herself, but can use her skills to repair and repurpose other robots to some degree. For example, she was able to plant the personality of ally RO635 into a small Dinergate, when RO's original body was destroyed beyond repair. Even after RO regained her body, SOP-II kept the Dinergate and called it "Banana."

SOP-II plays a big role in the story of the first Girls Frontline game, and returns in Girls Frontline 2 as "Soppo" during the Deep Oblivion event.

Gameplay

M4 SOPMOD II is a 4* AR doll, like the rest of AR Team. She cannot be crafted, but is given to players automatically after clearing story mission 3-3 for the first time. When placed in the middle row of an echelon, M4 SOPMOD II can buff the Evasion and Accuracy of SMG T-Dolls in the whole column in front of her. M4 SOPMOD II has roughly average RoF and Eva stats, and slightly below average in other categories, compared to other AR T-Dolls. Her battle skill allows her to fire an anti-personnel grenade from her rifle's underbarrel launcher.

Girls Frontline 2: Exilium

As Soppo, this T-Doll is classed as a Sentinel wielding an Assault Rifle. Her skills let her close the distance on enemies, or bring them closer to her, and she can switch between delivering Freeze or Burn coded damage.

Trivia

M4 SOPMOD II is based off the Special Operations Peculiar Modification (SOPMOD) program of U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) to create a specialized M4A1 Carbine for US Spec Ops Forces. The M4 SOPMOD Block I was released in 1997, but there were multiple gaps between that program and the next iteration that Block II was supposed to address. When the US invaded Afghanistan and then Iraq, the schedule was moved up. Plans for Block II were drawn up in 2003, and after several rounds of testing, Block II mods were finalized in 2007, with adoption of the modifications eventually spread throughout US Spec Ops Forces in 2012.

The GFL character of M4 SOPMOD II was illustrated by UmiNeko, a contributing artist for Girls' Frontline during its early development. UmiNeko also illustrated 3 other members of AR Team. UmiNeko commented on SOP-II's design: "In a word: ravager. The whole design concept revolves around 'Modification' and 'Destruction'."
