Children's Computer Workshop, Inc.
COMPANY
Developer of 'edutainment' games for the 2600, spun off from the Children's Television Workshop (the company behind Sesame Street).

History

Inspired by the success of video games developed for their Sesame Street (Franchise)-themed amusement parks, Children's Computer Workshop (CCW) was created to bring similar experiences to home consoles. According to president Paul Firstenberg, these "discovery-oriented, non-violent" games would "encourage broad use of a child's intelligence." CCW was created near the beginning of the 1980s game crash, and was dissolved by the end of the decade, reabsorbed to become just a division of Children's Television Workshop, now Sesame Workshop (Company).
