They began as a single team development studio, dedicated to creating the highest quality video games. In 2005 had the studio expanded to more than 35 game developers and in 2006 they released the first-person shooter Prey (Game), which was executive produced by 3D Realms.

Closure

A day after the release of Rune 2, Human Head studios announced it was closing its doors and reforming as Roundhouse Studios under Bethesda, this lead to Ragnarok Game filing a $100 million dollar lawsuit against Human Head Studios, Bethesda Softworks (Company) and ZeniMax alleging that they had tried to sabotage Rune 2's launch due to it being seen as a competitor to Skyrim.
