  JAM Productions was founded by Mike Maynard (Person) and Jim Row, who were both former employees of SoftDiskPublishing and colleagues ofID Software, who were working for SoftDisk Publishing as well. However, unlike ID Software, who released milestones in FPS gaming such as Wolfenstein 3D (Game) and the Doom (Game) series, JAM Productions' ouevre Blake Stone:Aliens of Gold and Blake Stone:Planet Strike lead to the swift demise of the studio, due to poor sales and marketing of the Blake Stone series.
