Jolt Online Gaming acquired Swirve.com in 2008, and where subsequently acquired by Ireland based OMAC Industries the same year. In 2009 Gamestop invested heavily in the company, and the launch of Legends of Zork (Game) was advertised with free gift cards to Gamestop's customers. Jolt closed down Swirve.com's long running browser strategy game Earth: 2025 (launched in 1997) in 2009, and Utopia was handed off to Frontsquare Solutions in 2010, while Jolt focused on the sequel Utopia Kingdoms, launched in 2009. Utopia Kingdoms and Legends of Zork were closed down in 2011 and Jolt Online Gaming shut down all their activities on March 16th, 2012, with only two days notice to their customers.
