Ready At Dawn was founded in 2003 by Ru Weerasuriya (Person), Didier Malenfant (Person), and Andrea Pessino (Person). Malenfant worked at Naughty Dog while Pessino and Weerasuriya both worked at Blizzard before co-founding Ready At Dawn.
Their first game, Daxter (Game), was released for the PlayStation Portable (Platform) in 2006. They continued to display their skills for PSP development with God of War: Chains of Olympus. Released in 2008, the title was a financial success and won them critical acclaim along with several awards.
The studio then made their console debut with The Order: 1886 for PS4 in 2015.
After the success of Lone Echo (Game), the studio was acquired by Oculus Studios (Company) to continue development of VR games.
In April 2023, nearly one third of the employees were laid off.
In August 2024, Oculus closed the studio.
