Dimetrodon
An extinct synapsid that lived on Earth during the Early Permian period around 280 million years ago. It is recognizable due to it's spinal sail, but it is not a dinoasaur as it existed 40 million years before dinosaurs.

The Dimetrodon is a deadly enemy that will use its teeth to attack the player. It is highly resistant to bullets and Shotgun shells. The standard Dimetrodon cannot attack from range. Thus, it is recommended to use high-powered weapons such as the Minigun, Grenade Launcher, or explosive shotgun shells. To avoid being bitten, the player must use circle strafing.
With the Hardcore difficulty mode introduced in Night Dive Studios' HD remaster, the Dimetrodon has become a faster predator and can withstand much more damage. They have also received a speed enhancement allowing it to move, attack, and react faster.
