Overview
Rotoscoping is an animation technique in which hand or computer-drawn animation is created using live-action footage as a base. The animation is created by tracing over each live-action frame. The technique has been used in a wide variety of theatrical films and other film and television projects, though its application in the creation of video games has been much more limited. The rotoscoping technique was popularized in gaming by Prince of Persia (Franchise), released in 1989.
