This concept was most notably brought to light by Bungie in Halo 3. This mode allows you to save video of a game session you played, make movie clips, and take screen shots. You can often upload them to the games' official website.

Halo: Reach adds the ability to tag and search for films from inside the game. Cutting out the need to log onto Bungie.net to add these. Bungie.net will still do the same.
