The disposable villians of the Shantae universe, the steam-powered Tinkerbats are much like the Goombas of Mario. They are wretched little cretins that do the bidding of Risky Boots.

Shantae gains the ability to turn into a Tinkerbat in the last town she visits in the game, by paying a guy in one of the shops to teach her the dance. This dance is only available while playing the Game Boy Color game in the Game Boy Advance. The creatures appear again in Shantae: Risky's Revenge.
