Xbox Originals
CONCEPT
The Xbox Live Marketplace and the Xbox 360's compatibility with certain Xbox games are utilized to make Xbox Originals - Xbox games that can be downloaded to and played on the Xbox 360.

On November 13, 2007 Microsoft announced that that they would be offering a number of games for the original Xbox as downloads on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

The service launched on December 4, 2007 with seven titles available in North America. All Xbox Originals cost 1200 Microsoft Points in all regions.

Japan's Xbox Originals launch included Magatamaand Puyo Pop Fever (Game).

On June 2nd, 2009, Microsoft announced that they would not continue to focus on the Xbox Originals program, instead choosing to focus on putting up "older" Xbox 360 games for download under the brand Games On Demand.  All existing Xbox originals will be rebranded to the Games On Demand brand.
