Overview

Asura Blade: Sword of Dynasty is a 2D high-fantasy fighting game developed and released by Fuuki for arcades in Japan in 1998. It later received a sequel in 2000 with Asura Buster: Eternal Warriors.

Gameplay

Asura Blade is a three-button fighting game.

Characters

The game includes eight playable characters and two boss characters, both of which can be playable in single-player via cheat codes.

  • Yashaoh - A katana wielding mercenary who travels the world in search of worthy opponents.
  • Alice - A ten-year-old princess who specializes in necromancy and has run away to pursue her own adventures.
  • Footee - A female martial artist descended from a family of warriors.
  • Goat - A traveling mercenary wielding a zweihander-style sword who is haunted by the death of his family.
  • Lightning - A dual sword using fighter of noble heritage who also has electrokinetic abilities.
  • Rose Mary - A swordswoman born into a family of nobility who seeks the Asura Blade to restore her kingdom.
  • Taros - A large robot/automaton designed for military use that will complete any assignment it is programmed to perform.
  • Zam-B - An undead, convicted criminal with one oversized gauntlet who serves for Alice's father seeking to retrieve his runaway daughter.
  • Curfue (sub boss) - A crazed gunman armed with a laser rifle who works for S. Geist.
  • S. Geist (final boss) - A ruthless, masked warlord who wields the Sword of Dynasty (AKA eponymous Asura Blade) who seeks to unleash an ancient evil and conquer the world.
