Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today is a point-and-click adventure game developed by Fictiorama Studios, an indie game studio in Madrid founded by three brothers. Two of the brothers are also members of the alternative rock band Kovalski, responsible for composing the soundtrack of the game.
Released April 10 2015, this is the first installment in what is planned to be a series of Dead Synchronicity games. Inspiration for the dystopian theme is claimed to come from games like I have no mouth and I must scream and Sanitarium (Game). The 2D point-and-click interface is however derived from classic adventures such as The Secret of Monkey Island (Game) and Day of the Tentacle.
Michael wakes up in a post-apocalyptic world with no memories of his own past. He must try to figure out who he is while a terrible pandemic is turning people around him into the Dissolved. An event called the Great Wave seems to be the root of the disease, and many other disasters that appears to have happened recently. Confusedly walking around in the ruins of society, it becomes clear to Michael that an even worse catastrophe is on its way.
The project was launched on Kickstarter on March 12 2014, asking for $45,000 to be able to complete the game. When the campaign closed, 1,606 backers had pledged $51,501. This meant a stretch goal of extra locations and characters was also met.
