The game was inspired by the arcade classic Kung-Fu Master. It later received a sequel called Kung Fu Kid.
The protagonist is Wang (inspired by Jackie Chan (Person) and/or his character Thomas (Character)), hence the unfortunate title Dragon Wang. Wang is Chinese for King.
