Overview

A visual novel game created by Nitroplus and written by Jin Hanegaya, released July 26, 2012. Guilty Crown: Lost Christmas, previously known as "Lost X", is the prequel to the Guilty Crown anime series, and follows three characters' lives ten years prior to the anime.

Plot

Set ten years prior to the events of Guilty Crown, this visual novel follows the Lost Christmas event, December 25, 2029. It revolves around three main characters, known only by the code names Scrooge, Carol, and Present. Scrooge, a failed human experiment, attempts to escape the GHQ testing facility where he is kept. Along the way, he is joined by Carol, another experiment, who lends him additional power. After escaping, the two cross paths with three "ghosts", Past, Present, and Yet to Come.

Scrooge \|\| Scrooge (スクルージ) is the main character, and bears the King's Powers. Scrooge suffers from amnesia, and hopes to reclaim his memories and get revenge on Da'ath, the organization responsible for experimenting on him. His face bears a resemblance to Guilty Crown's main male protagonist, Shu Ouma. Powers: His King's Powers allows him to extract Voids from Carol. Unlike Shu's powers, if Scrooge attempts to extract Voids from anyone other than Carol, the Apocalypse Virus instantly crystallizes them. Voice Actor: Takahiro Sakurai (Person)
Carol \|\| Carol (キャロル) is a human test subject who escapes with Scrooge. Her face bears a resemblance to Guilty Crown's main female protagonist, Inori Yuzuriha. Powers: Unlike regular Voids, Carol's Voids can take multiple forms. They are extremely fragile, however Carol can survive having her Voids destroyed. Voice Actress: Kana Asumi (Person)
Present \|\| Present (プレゼント) is an assassin who is sent to hunt down Scrooge and Carol. Her face bears a resemblance to Guilty Crown's male character, Gai Tsutsugami. Powers: Present is capable of controlling the crystals formed when the Apocalypse Virus infects humans. Voice Actress: Yuu Kobayashi
Past \|\| Past is the pilot of an Endlave, a mech controlled remotely by a user's brain. Spoilers: Her true identity is Saeko Shijou, the mother of Shu and Mana Ouma. While still capable of controlling an Endlave, the Apocalypse Virus has left her unable to move.
Yet to Come	Yet to Come is the unborn child of Carol and Scrooge. The baby is unborn because Carol's womb was crystallized by the Apocalypse Virus when Scrooge impregnated her. The baby is reborn as a Void that Scrooge pulls out of Carol's body to use as a weapon.

Other Characters

Segai Waltz Makoto - Segai encounters Scrooge and Carol during their escape, losing his left eye in a battle with the two. From that day, he is awed by Scrooge's King's Powers.
Mana Ouma - Mana is the sister of Shu Ouma and patient zero of the Apocalypse Virus. The virus caused her to become a new "Eve" who would recreate the world by mating with "Adam". She chose Shu for this role, only to be rejected, leading to the Lost Christmas event.
Haruka Ouma - Haruka is the adoptive step mother of Mana and Shu Ouma.

Merchandise

Limited Edition

The normal edition of Lost Christmas cost 5,040 yen (~$60) while the limited edition cost 7,140 Yen (~$85).

The limited edition includes a DVD with a 12-minute animated short animated by Productions I.G. and written by Nitroplus. The limited edition also includes a special box, a digi-case designed by Guilty Crown artist Chuuouhigashiguchi, a booklet of rough sketches, and a jacket sheet from Redjuice Graphics and chief animation director Satoshi Kadowaki.
