Hi-Ten Bomberman is a 10-player version of Bomberman produced for use during a series of traveling events called Super Caravan 1993. Hudson produced the game, which ran on two unified PC Engines with multitaps for input handling and custom hardware for the game itself as well as the signal processing required to get the game to run on the analogue high definition TV standard of the day. Hi-Ten Bomberman is, essentially, the first HD video game ever produced, running at an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a resolution of 1920x1035, also known as 1035i. Some of the concepts used in this combined hardware implementation would be used to inform the design of the PC-FX. After the end of the Super Caravan events, the game was displayed at NHK Studio Park, an interactive theme park in Tokyo's Shibuya (Location) district. Despite the game's roots in commercial hardware, the game was never released on any other platform, leaving the custom hardware as the only place the game was/is available to play. It's said that five units were produced for the Super Caravan tour. Super Caravan 1994 saw the presentation of a follow-up called Hi-Ten Chara-Bomb.
