Ivy the Kiwi? is a 2D physics-based puzzle-platformer developed and published by Prope for Windows Mobile devices in Japan on November 2009 and in North America on January 2010, with a release for iOS devices on October 11, 2012 and for Android (Platform) devices on August 21, 2013.

In the game, players guide the newborn kiwi bird Ivy (Character) towards the goal within the time limit by drawing and interacting with ivy branches using stylus/touch controls, which are used as branches, springboards, and barriers for her (as she is moving forward autonomously). Some puzzles require clever use of physics, such as guiding a rock to destroy enemies and barriers. The story is simple, as Ivy sets off to find her missing mother, and the game makes heavy use of muted colors and a pencil-sketch art style.

It later received retail Wii (Platform) and Nintendo DS (Platform) releases in Japan by Bandai Namco on April 22, 2010, in North America by XSEED Games (Company) on August 24, 2010, and in Europe by Rising Star Games (Company) on October 29, 2010. It is one of the few games for both systems to receive a limited digital version (Ivy the Kiwi? Mini) as WiiWare (exclusively in Japan) and DSiWare (Platform) games (worldwide, with the European release by GameBridge (Company) as part of their GO Series), without some of the bonus features (such as the Bonus Game mode). The Wii version uses a motion-based stylus, and features split-screen multiplayer for up to four players. The DS version features wireless multiplayer for up to four players, including Single-Card Download Play.

Gameplay

The game has been compared a lot to the game Kirby: Canvas Curse (Game) due to similar gameplay types. The player of Ivy the Kiwi? does not openly control Ivy, instead the player must draw lines to guide Ivy away from dangers and enemies encountered throughout the game; enemies such as: falling obstacles. The player must also guide Ivy to the goal (the end of the level/stage). The Nintendo DS and Wii retail version has 100 levels however the downloadable versions (off WiiWare and DSiWare) only have 50 levels.Collectable through out the game are feathers that, when 10 are collected, add an extra life. In stage trial, the feathers also serve to award metal based on the time you took to collect them. At the end of each level there is a award platform that gives you bonus points depending on where you land.

Some levels include a rock item that destroys blocks and kills enemys. Sometimes this just serves as a powerup, other times it's required to get through a level, as there are blocks that can only be destroyed by a rock.

In the main game you play through each level in order. If you get a game over you can continue at the cost of your total score, or you can begin again. In stage trial, you can play through every level you have beaten in the main game. There is also multiplayer where multiple players race to a goal.
