Investigate the disappearance of various Mayan artifacts in this action-adventure game based on the classic Johnny Quest series of adventure cartoons.

Overview

Jonny Quest: Curse of the Mayan Warriors, known in some advertisements as Jonny Quest and the Splinter of Heaven, is an action-adventure game developed by MicroIllusions (Company) and published by Hollyware Entertainment (Company) for DOS PCs in 1993. Based on the 1960's and 1980's Hanna-Barbera cartoon series Johnny Quest, Curse of the Mayan Warriors joins the Quest family (teenage adventurer Jonny Quest (Character), his scientist father Dr. Benton Quest, Jonny's adopted brother Hadji (Character), and their pilot and bodyguard "Race" Bannon) in the Guatemalan jungle as they investigate the plundering of several ancient Mayan temples. Much of the game is moving Jonny around in a top-down perspective, talking with people, searching for items, and using items to solve puzzles. When faced with an attacker, the game switches to a side-view fight sequence, somewhat similar to a standard fighting game. He is aided by both Hadji and their dog Bandit, both of whom help incapacitate his attackers. The game was intended to be first "episode" in a series of Jonny Quest games, with the story ending on a cliffhanger. No additional episodes in this series were made.
