Overview

Kasou Jansou: MacPon II, known in-game as MacPon II, is a riichi mahjong game developed and published by Enzan-Hoshigumi for Macintosh computers exclusively in Japan in 1994.

The sequel to the original disk-based MacPon, MacPon II makes use of the CD-ROM to add a variety of new tables, each with their own unique selection of opponents, cosmetic styles, and sounds. It also includes some quality-of-life updates, such as animations that play when someone wins.

The game also received a Windows PC port, known as Kasou Jansou: Mado o Akereba Pon ("Open the Window and Pon"). Not much is known about this version.

Rooms

Basement

2nd St. de Pon! - Themed after Tokyo's gay subculture, with the player playing against stereotypically gay guys Ginza no Oyuki, Lavender no Shou, and Teddy.
Punk de Pon! - Themed after classic punk rockers, with the player playing against Richard, Christopher, and Devin.
MacPon de Pon! - Themed on the game's elderly cyborg mascot Tome, with the player playing against her and fellow cyborg elders Ume and Sakuzo.
SM de Pon! / Akuzanoma - BDSM themed, with players playing against dominatrix "Saint Justine", her love slave, and a goat. Unlocked after playing a match in the other four Basement tables.
Iseki de Pon! - Themed on ancient history, with the player playing against a Moai, Dogu (Object), and Haniwa (Object).

1st Floor

All five of these rooms are from the original MacPon.

Family de Pon! - Set in a family home, with the player playing against a father, his daughter Megumi (along with her boyfriend), and their cat Mike.
OZ de Pon! - Fantasy room themed after The Wizard of Oz (Franchise), with the player playing against the Tin Woodsman, Cowardly Lion (Character), and Scarecrow.
ProJang de Pon! - A traditional table without any gimmicks, with the player playing against the trio Saeko, Kengo, and Mori.
Machine de Pon! - Sci-fi room themed after computers, with the player playing against a IBM PC, a classic Macintosh, and an 8800.
Rock de Pon! - Themed after classic rock musicians, with the player playing against Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, and Bob Marley.

2nd Floor

Company de Pon! - Set in an office break room, with the player playing against co-workers (manager Karui, officeworker Momoko, and American foreigner Bill).
Oedo de Pon! - Themed after Japan's Edo period, with the player playing against kabuki characters Toku, Sakurahime, and Sukeroku.
Chonbo de Pon! - Themed after comedic mahjong manga, with the player playing against Roto-ji, Dango, and Yama. This table is unique for an unreasonable amount of high-scoring hands.
Syounan de Pon! - Set on a tropical beach, with players playing against guy Koichi and gal Misaki, as well as a dolphin.
Otogi de Pon! - Themed after classic Japanese folk tales, with the player playing against Taro Urashima, Momotaro (Character), and Kaguya-hime.

Top Floor

Heaven de Pon! - Themed after the heavens, with the player playing against Amitābha, Gurū, and an angel. Unlocked after playing a match on SM de Pon!, then winning Chonbo de Pon!
