GAME » on November 6, 2003
From the studio behind Tokyo Xtreme Racer comes a game of thrilling car chases, where you outrun and outgun a terrorist cell bent on using a stolen weapon in Los Angeles.

Overview

Maximum Chase is an over-the-top action driving/shooting game developed by Genki and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox (Platform) in Japan on September 26, 2002, with a North American release by Majesco on November 6, 2003. Developed by the studio behind the Tokyo Xtreme Racer (Franchise) series and inspired by Hollywood-style car chases, Maximum Chase puts players in several real-life cars as they alternate between outrunning pursuers (in "Chase" driving sequences) and shooting them (in "Gunfight" light-gun sequences). The game's story, mostly told through live-action full-motion video cutscenes, tells the story of Rick Summer, a LAPD traffic cop who gets involved in a terrorist plot involving a stolen weaponized energy device known as "Overflare". After each sequence, players can watch a cinematic replay with additional story dialogue. It was later made backwards-compatible with the Xbox 360 (Platform).
