NHL Rivals was the first and only release of a Microsoft's own hockey series.
Rivals was one of many Microsoft Sports franchises that were abandoned when EA began supporting Xbox Live. Rivals allowed 10 people to connect online spread over 6 consoles to play full 5-on-5 hockey, impressive even by today standards. Rivals also had a 3-on-3 pickup mode.
