"Shoot, hack, and be a dad. Pragmata is an exhilarating, fast-paced sci-fi shooter experience."

In the future, humanity has discovered a new mineral on the Moon called Lunum ore, which they use to create Lunafilament, a shape-changing memory alloy that can replicate virtually anything with enough data fed into it. One day, the Earth loses all contact with the lunar research station dedicated to mining and studying Lunafilament, so they send a team from Earth to reconnect with the station and find out what happened. However, shortly after arriving, a massive Lunar quake separates the dispatch crew. One of those crewmembers, Hugh Williams (Character), is on the brink of death when he is rescued and healed by D-1-0336-7, a Lunafilament construct known as a "Pragmata" taking on the form of a little girl. Hugh decides to call the girl Diana, and the two of them explore the station, try to find out what happened, see if there are any survivors, and a way to return to Earth. Standing in their way is the station's AI overseer, I.D.U.S., which sees Hugh as a threat to be terminated and sends several robotic guards to kill him.
Players must combine Hugh's skills with Diana's hacking abilities to defeat the robots that IDUS sends after them.
Pragmata was developed in Capcom's proprietary RE Engine, from the lighting and reflections to Diana's hair. The physics used to simulate Diana's hair were reportedly also used for Grace Ashcroft (Character)'s hair in Resident Evil: Requiem.
Pragmata was originally planned for a 2022 release, but was then delayed to 2023, and then in June 2023 it was postponed "indefinitely." The game was trapped in development hell by Capcom until an announcement at the Sony "State of Play" showcase in June 2025 that it would be released in 2026. A trailer at The Game Awards pinned down a release date of April 24, 2026. A demo was released February 5, 2026, titled Pragmata: Sketchbook, showing off a vertical slice of the game with Hugh defending Diana from waves of robot enemies, and then Hugh and Diana teaming up to take down more powerful enemies, while showing off the game's combat and traversal mechanics. One month later, during the "Capcom Spotlight" presentation, Capcom announced the final release date of Pragmata would be one week earlier, April 17.
