Overview

R.B.I. Baseball 21 is an arcade-styled baseball game released by MLB Advanced Media (Company) in March of 2021 for PC (Platform) (via Steam (Concept)), Xbox One (Platform), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 (Platform), Nintendo Switch (Platform),iOS, and Android (Platform). It is the final game in the series as of the end of 2024, and although there is no confirmation of a connection (especially since the two series have different play styles), its release does correlate with the MLB-branded The Show series from Sony going multiplatform.

Gameplay

General gameplay did not change much from the previous iteration, but R.B.I. 21 did bring some much-requested features to the game at last. R.B.I. 21 debuted a create-a-player function for the contemporary portion of the series, allowing players to design a character from the ground up and draft them to a team of their choice. R.B.I. 21 also introduced play-by-play commentary, a function long desired by the fanbase. Less requested but no less well-received was adynamic time-of-day system, as the sun traveled across the sky and would even set and stars would begin to arrive in view, depending on the time the game took place and how long the game took to run.
