Relapse is an Amnesia inspired adventure game and psychological thriller set in a disused Victorian Insane Asylum.

Overview

Relapse is a psychological thriller game where players take on the persona of an urban blogger who decides to visit an abandoned Victorian era Insane Asylum. Unfortunately while looking for a great story to post, the player becomes the story! Captured by Dirk, the psychopath locks the player inside the Asylum and informs the them they will be part of a little game. Escape the labyrinth of the Asylum or meet their doom at the end of a machete blade! Not a fan of a fair competition Dirk knows the layout of the asylum like the back of his hand, and our players are left stumbling through the dark.

Game Play

Players must avoid the psychopath Dirk in a cat and mouse like game while navigating through the Asylum. Players must solve horror themed puzzles which are accompanied by a realistic ambient sound track. Puzzles have a choice of modes, allowing players who are more interested in the storyline to opt for a less challenging option to reduce the difficulty. Attempting to avoid common supernatural themes, the development team at Blueprint Games attempted to create a more realistic horror setting. Relying on historical research to create a full back story based on actual life at a UK Victorian Insane Asylum.
