Overview

Resident Evil: Resistance, known in Japan as Biohazard: Resistance, is an asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror game developed by NeoBards (Company) and published digitally by Capcom (Company) for the Xbox One (Platform), PlayStation 4, and PC on April 3, 2020. It is also included in all copies of the 2020 Resident Evil 3 (Game) remake. Considered the "online component" of the 2020 Resident Evil 3 (Game) remake, Resistance pits four "Survivor" players against a single "Mastermind" player (similar to Dead by Daylight (Game)). The Survivors, who play the game in a traditional third-person shooter perspective, must work together to reach the exit while surviving the traps and monsters of the Mastermind. Most of the time, the Mastermind watches the action (and purchases new traps and enemies) through a series of surveillance cameras, although they can control bosses directly. The game's lore, which is non-canonical to the series, takes place during the Raccoon City (Location) incident and is set in Umbrella Corporation's "NEST2" facility, where abducted civilians must fight zombies and other mutant bioweapons to prove the effectiveness of the T-Virus.
