Overview

Roko-Loko no Castelo do Ratozinger is a Brazilian indie 2D platformer based on a comic strip by cartoonist Marcio Baraldi, published in music magazine Rock Brigade. It was inspired by a widely criticized 2001 statement by cardinal Joseph Ratzinger (later elected pope Benedict XVI) denouncing rock music.

Plot

Ratozinger, "an ultraconservative religious sewer rat who hates rock and sex", has captured a number of notable rock stars, as well as the hero's girlfriend, in his castle's dungeons.

Soundtrack

The game's soundtrack was done by hard rock band Exxótica.

Versions

The game was available as a free download (still available from the official website), as well as a boxed disc. It was also bundled with several video game magazines. A "remix" version, with bonus stages and a making-of DVD, was also available at a point. A cell phone port also exists.
