Runes: The Forgotten Path is a VR adventure more similar to other VR games such as the Gallery, full of puzzle solving and story driven gameplay. In Runes you will play as Leth, an old wizard that awakens after along period of imprisonment inside his own mind, the Obilivion. Punished by the order of the Panopticon, a tryannical order of wizards that control the population by limiting the amount of magic each wizard can perform. Leth wakes up unaware of his identity and in a search for his lost spells and revenge.
The VR immersion in Runes takes advantage of all the technology in the current generation of Head Mounted Displays (HMDs) and put the player into a world of fantasy and mystery.
Among the innovations brought forward in Runes is the 4th wall, a new locomotion system to prevent motion sickness while adding an extra layer of depth and narration to the adventure.
This locomotion system is only one of several that are featured in Runes, as the locomotion is tied to the story and the context.
