Overview

Shovel Knight: King of Cards is an additional campaign developed by Yacht Club Games (Company), that will conclude the Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove series. Players take on the role of Knight King (previously a boss character) as he journeys to ascend to the throne. This campaign will be part of a free update to Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove along with the multiplayer VS mode Shovel Knight Showdown (Game) but both will also be released separately.

Gameplay

Staying true to the traditional Shovel Knight theme, King of Cards is predominantly an 8-bit 2D side-scrolling platformer. However, unlike previous campaigns, it will also feature a brand new in-game card battling system.

Shovel Knight: King of Cards will contain the following features:

4 new worlds.
Over 30 new courses.
New attacks and abilities - such as "Bash attack" and "Spinning strike".
New weapons and armor.
Compete in the new card battling mode.
New Game+ mode.
Additional "Feats" and "Challenge Stages".
New bosses to challenge.

Soundtrack

Yacht Club Games (Company) have confirmed that long-standing Shovel Knight composer Jake Kaufman (Person) will be working on the King of Cards soundtrack.
