Svea Rike
Based on the board game by the same name, Svea Rike is a turn based grand strategy game set in Sweden between the years 1523 and 1818.
The game starts in 1523, as Gustav Wasa becomes king of Sweden and leaves the Kalmar Union, a union between Norway, Sweden and Denmark that had lasted since 1397, and ends with the death of Charles XIII in 1818. Each turn lasts for 5 years (making a full game session last for 60 turns), during which the player will have to manage agriculture, military, economy and relations with the neighboring countries Norway, Denmark, The Holy Roman Empire, Russia and Poland.
Svea Rike got two direct sequels and spawned the spin-off series Europa Universalis (Franchise), which still lives on.
