The Man in the Cape is a top down, twin stick shooter developed by Long Division LLC for release on Steam. In the game, "superhero" The Man in the Cape becomes trapped in a superhero elimination dungeon, which was built by Mr. Granderson.
Mr. Granderson, who owns an electronics repair shop, discovers that the roof of his building has become a prime spot for superheros to stand and survey their beloved city. Fed up with these trespassers, he builds a large, underground superhero elimination dungeon, devised to trap and dispose of these nuisances. The Man in the Cape, on his daily survey of the city, falls down a trapdoor on Granderson's roof. Taunted by Mr. Granderson, The Man in the Cape must escape the dungeon and bring Granderson to justice.
The Man in the Cape must fight his way, room by room, through Mr. Granderson's superhero elimination dungeon. Trapped in a room, enemies enter, as well as teleport, in to destroy The Man in the Cape. Armed with his trusty blaster, the Capeman must destroy every enemy in the room before the doors open and he can proceed to the next. The game is a twin stick shooter and supports XInput. The Left Stick moves the player, while the Right Stick fires the current weapon.
Each room is populated with Mr. Granderson's nanotech creations, ranging from skittering NanoBugs to heavily armed Tanks.
As The Man in the Cape progresses through the dungeon, he will encounter super powered bosses, whose defeat opens up a further section of the dungeon.
Enemies may drop a weapon upon defeat, which give the Capeman a temporary boost in firepower. Rockets provide splash damage, Cannonballs deliver a multi-projectile barrage, lasers fire through enemies, etc.
