The Perfect General is a turn-based strategy game developed by White Wolf Productions (Company) and published by Quantum Quality Productions (Company) (with UBI SOFT Entertainment Software co-publishing in Europe) for DOS PC and Amiga (Platform) computers in 1991. Designed by the programmer behind Empire: Wargame of the Century, and "based on a twelve year old tournament series", The Perfect General is a wargame that uses a hexagonal grid system and simplistic units, with several unique scenarios to choose from. Along with hotseat and CPU opponents, it also supports networked and dial-up multiplayer. It later received two expansions (or scenario disks): World War II Battle Set (which adds 15 scenarios based on historical World War II (Concept) battles) and Greatest Battles of the 20th Century (which adds 20 scenarios based on historical conflicts throughout the 20th century). It later received a CD-ROM bundle in 1993 with both expansions as The Perfect Trilogy: The Complete "Perfect General" Trilogy Set. The game also received a console adaptation in 1996, developed by Game Guild (Company) and published by Kirin Entertainment (Company) for the 3DO (Platform). Along with a unique set of scenarios, this version features a cartoonish 3D CGI style, live-action full-motion video cutscenes, and a single-player campaign mode. It also features a bonus eight-player action mini-game based on the Bomberman (Franchise) series (using units from the base game). It also received a Windows adaptation in 2003 by Killer Bee Software (Company), known as The Perfect General: Internet Edition.
