Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea, commonly known as Wadanohara, is a game made by Japanese developer Deep-Sea Prisoner in RPG Maker 2000. It was originally released on December 21, 2013. The game was later translated into several other languages, including English, Chinese, and Spanish.
Much like Deep-Sea Prisoner's previous game The Gray Garden, Wadanohara is a story-focused adventure game with role-playing elements, featuring cute anime-style artwork and dialogue similar to a visual novel. The gameplay primarily consists of exploring the game's vast underwater world and fighting enemies along the way. The game has a basic turn-based RPG battle system, but with much lower difficulty than most traditional RPGs.
Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea takes place in an underwater world inhabited by anthropomorphic sea creatures. The story follows a young sea witch named Wadanohara, who is accompanied by her three familiars Memoca, Dolphi, and Fukami, as they get entagled in various conflicts. The game mostly maintains a light-hearted tone, but gets darker as the player progresses through the story, mixing in elements of psychological horror and drama.
