Yū Yū Hakusho: Makyō Tōitsusen is a 2D horror-fantasy fighting game developed by Treasure (Company) and published by Sega (Company) for the Mega Drive in Japan on September 30, 1994. It later received a limited release in the late '90s by Tec Toy in Brazil (Location), known as Yuyu Hakusho: Sunset Fighters.
The 10th/11th game based on the manga and anime series YuYu Hakusho (Franchise), and the second released for the Mega Drive, Makyou Toitsusen is a traditional 2D fighting game with key characters from the series as playable fighters.
It is known for its multitap multiplayer combat, with up to four players battling simultaneously in both free-for-all and team matches. Similar to the Fatal Fury (Franchise) series, the game allows players to switch between two planes of combat. This concept was later expanded on for the studio's later beat-'em-up/fighting game Guardian Heroes (Game). as well as their later anime-licensed fighting games Bleach: The Blade of Fate and Bleach: Dark Souls.
While the game received no sequels, ports, or re-releases, it was later included in the Japanese version of the Mega Drive Mini.
