Having created his first text-based games in QBasic in his youth, he did not pursue game development until 2011, instead focusing on gaming journalism on enthusiast websites, such as GameCrashers. In 2011, he spent seven months at Untold Entertainment (Company), learning from mentors such as Ryan Henson Creighton (Person), and then began creating games at game jams such as Ludum Dare, the Global Game Jam, and the Toronto Game Jam. Having been introduced to Twine by Christine Love (Person), he began creating interactive fiction games.
