Ken Sugimori has been the character designer for every single main Pokémon game, conceiving all 649 of the portable monsters and human characters, with the exception of the Pokémon Gold/Silver remakes, Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver, whose human character designs and redesigns were handled by Takao Unno (Person).
