Tommy Morrison
PERSON

Overview

Tommy "The Duke" Morrison was a former boxing champion. In 1993, Morrison defeated boxing legend George Foreman (Character) to claim the World Boxing Organization's Heavyweight Title. Though he would lose the title in less than a year, he finished his career with an outstanding record of 48 wins, 3 losses, and 1 draw. He is said to be related to John Wayne, which is where his nicknamed is derived from. In the mid 90's, Morrison was diagnosed with the HIV virus and therefore banned to fight in the state of Nevada. This prompted "The Duke" to retire from boxing. Though months later, he would go onto fight once more in Japan for an Aids charity event. After more than 10 years, Morrison attempted a comeback in 2006. He won the only two matches he fought in. Morrison would later go on to deny the results of his Nevada test, claiming they were false positives. In 1990, Morrison would play a boxer in the movie Rocky V. Morrison passed away on September 1st, 2013.
