Groundskeeper Willie is a stereotypical, belligerent Scotsman in the long running animated TV show, the Simpsons. In the show, he is the groundskeeper and janitor of Springfield Elementary. Willie made his first appearance in the season two episode: ‘Principal Charming’. When conceived, the character's ethnicity was not defined, however, when recording dialogue for the character, Dan Castellaneta included the Scottish accent. Groundskeeper Willie has become known for his insulting retorts, often aimed at Principal Skinner. He has also become known for his shirtless muscled physique, which is notoriously incongruous with his pot bellied appearance when wearing clothes.
