A succubus is a demoness with the appearance of a beautiful woman that feeds off of male sexual energy. This notion comes from medieval Europe, which believed that succubi visited men in erotic dreams and had sex with them, they then gave the seed they collected to incubi (their male counterparts) who used it to impregnate women in their dreams.

Depictions of succubi have appeared in numerous video games over the years, though the single most popular and well-known succubus in video games is arguably Morrigan Aensland (Character) from the Darkstalkers (Franchise) series and other Capcom (Company) fighting games. Lilith is also another notable succubus that originally appeared in Darkstalkers but went on to appear in other Capcom titles. The Megami Tensei (Franchise) games include succubi as demons that players can encounter, as well as lilim, a cultural variation on succubi and the children of Lilith, Adam's first wife.

Xana (Character) from Dark Messiah of Might andamp;amp;amp; Magic is commonly considered a succubus as she is a demon who often uses seductive powers to influence the decisions of the character Sareth (Character). Len (Character) of the Melty Blood (Game) games is a succubus demon familiar with the power to manipulate dreams and Lamica (Character) from Queen's Blade: Spiral Chaos is a succubus that serves the sorceress Dora. Succubi and succubus-like creatures also appear in the Warcraft (Franchise) lore where they originate from a race known as the Sayaad. In World of Warcraft (Game) warlocks can obtain succubus minions which have among their powers a seduction ability which can temporarily immobilize enemies.

Succubi are most commonly found in games as enemies, such as in Diablo (Game) where succubi are found as enemies in the deeper recesses of Hell (Location). However, succubi were not included in Diablo II (Game), until its expansion, where they were introduced in Mount Arreat as the personal harem of Baal (Character) which he brought along with his invasion forces. In MadWorld (Game) the boss character Elise is half- vampire, half-succubus and some titles in the series also feature a succubus as an antagonist.
