A-Ressha de Ikou ("Let's Take the A-Train") is a railway management game developed and published by Artdink (Company) for the NEC PC-88 and FM-7 computers in Japan on December 1985, with a NEC PC-98 release in 1987, a MSX (Platform) release in 1989, a Famicom release (by Pony Canyon) in 1991, and a Sega Mega Drive release (as A-Ressha de Ikou MD) in 1992. The first in a long line of railway management games (known overseas as "A-Train"), A-Ressha de Ikou gives players a top-down view of the U.S.A. as they are tasked with expanding a transcontinental railway network through construction (directly using the A-Train) and proper scheduling (with both passenger and freight trains, each giving income and resources) in order to connect two distant stations together within a year. Unlike the second (Railroad Empire (Game)), third (A-Train), and fourth (A-Train: Trains, Power, Money and A IV Network$ / C.E.O.) games in the A-Train series, the original A-Ressha de Ikou never saw an overseas release.
