Lost Secret of the Rainforest, informally known as EcoQuest II, is an educational point-and-click adventure game developed and published by Sierra for DOS PCs in 1993.
The sequel to the 1991 game EcoQuest: The Search for Cetus, Lost Secret of the Rainforest puts players back in control of Adam Greene (Character), the young son of an ecologist and one who can communicate with nature, as he's brought to South America (Location) on business before finding himself alone deep in the tropical rainforest. He is then tasked by the indigenous Grove People and the animals of the rainforest to find a suitable seedling for the dying Forest Heart (the personification of the rainforest whose previous seedling perished due to deforestation).
Similar to the previous game, Lost Secret of the Rainforest features an environmentalist theme and is intended to teach ecology to kids. However, it shifts from marine biology to the tropical ecosystem (including botany, zoology, and anthropology). It also features a new learning tool, the handheld computer "Ecorder", and includes more difficult puzzles and challenges to overcome.
