Winding Heat is a 3D street racing game developed and released by Konami for arcades on September 1996. A sequel to Midnight Run: Road Fighters 2, Winding Heat shifts the theme from racing on an expressway to racing on rural, mountain-side roads (similar to touge racing). It features three courses (Beginner's, Intermediate, and Advanced), an optional Time Attack mode (with no oncoming cars), and multiple tuning choices (affecting the car's speed and handling). Some aspects of the previous game, such as the ability to change transmission on-the-fly and the scoring system, were not brought over. Unlike its predecessor, it has not received any home conversion. It later received a successor with Racing Jam (Game).
