Innsmouth is a fictional coastal New England town created by H. P. Lovecraft. It is the setting for Lovecraft's classic horror story "The Shadow Over Innsmouth." Many of the town's inhabitants are cultists belonging to the Esoteric Order of Dagon. Over time the cultists develop fish-like attributes and eventually disappear into the sea.
