Stationary Aiming
CONCEPT
The inability to walk in any direction whilst shooting a weapon of any sort. The player usually still has the ability to pivot.

Overview

Stationary aiming, as its name suggests, is the act of taking aim with a weapon while staying in one position. Games that employ this concept prevent the player from taking careful aim while moving, and oftentimes disallow firing entirely as long as the player character is in motion. Though the concept is based in reality, as firing a gun while moving leads to a decline in accuracy and risks injury to the gun wielder, it is frowned upon in some circles of players accustomed to being able to run and shoot simultaneously.
